All along the way "sweeper vans" would pass by and cheer us on. They were decorated really cute, all having themes and playing music. You could give them a thumbs down and they would come pick you up and take you to the next pit stop or camp.

We loved it when people would play music for us. Lots of people came out to Saturday and Sunday's cheering sections - we loved them!

Walking through Kirkland was really beautiful. We traveled through neighborhoods with great views -
mostly going down hill toward the water. Sweet little girls were giving out pink lemonade and we just couldn't say no. :) Finally, we made it to lunch!
It was at a beautiful park on the north end of Lake Washington. Tara and I both thought day 2 would be the hardest, sore after day 1 and sleeping in a tent... but it was the best day by far. More cheerleaders, we were moving at a faster pace and we felt great!
At lunch I notice a blister on the end of my second toe on my right foot. I put a band aid on it and off we went for the second half of our day. We made it to the next pit stop after lunch -
took a quick break and from there it was up hill for about 5 miles. That was tough. But from there we were on the home stretch to make it back to camp... hooray!
Warning: those of you that get grossed out easily might want to skip this part... Towards the end of our walk that day the blister I mentioned before went from a dull to sharp pain. I was afraid to look. We got to our tent, promptly took off our shoes and I examined it. Not pretty. You can't really see from this picture, but the blister moved from the top of my toe, around the side of the nail and then down from there. I shouldn't really say "around" the nail, more like through, or under the nail.
I wasn't sure what to do, so I went to the medical tent to wait for about 45 minutes and then had them tell me to just wrap it up. Pretty much like the Dr. at home, but without the co-pay. :)
We did get into camp a lot earlier like we wanted so the line for the showers was fast,
as well as dinner.

This is where we ate -

They had some shops set up so we visited those,

And also the memory tents. You could write a message about who you're walking for, or how you're feeling.
They lit them up at night - very cool. But I got this picture at 9 pm (lights out time) and they already turned 1/2 of them off.

At the end of the day, they announce when the last walkers are making it into camp. Here we are cheering them on - it was so great.
In the big tent where we ate a stage was set up,
Friday night they held a rock star karaoke contest. We caught the tail end of it while eating dinner - hilarious. Saturday night the rock star finals were held, then came the dance party. SO FUN! We boogied all night. (well, till 9 :)
