Big Girl Kenzie

Today Makenzie Joanne advanced from Primary. As I watched her walk up to the podium (in her new heels :) I felt very proud to be her mom. The bishop told us that she is ready and excited to become a Beehive and recognized her for completing her Faith in God requirements. She was poised and calm when the bishop asked her to recite her favorite Article of Faith. (I would have DIED!) She spoke clearly when she said the 10th:
We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the 10 tribes; that Zion (the new Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisaical glory. Most impressive!
It was really fun walking to the Primary room with all the young women, who were so excited to get her, and I found myself trying not to get emotional. What a sweet girl she is and such a great leader. Having her in class today went really well and I'm excited for many years (I hope!) to come spent with my girls in the Young Women's program.
Now as I type this, Matthew is having his interview with the bishop for his completion of the Teachers portion of Duty to God and his advancement into the Priest Quorum. My children are all growing up around me and there's no way to stop it! I'm so proud of all of them and their accomplishments and their desire to do good.
