I love it. Kurt worked it for a few weeks and got us a great deal. This got us thinking of all the vehicles we've had in our 16 years of marriage...Our first car, a scary Pinto. We only had it for a few months and I'm not sure if we sold it, or traded it for something like a T.V. and a nintendo.

Car #2, a Volvo. This isn't the real thing, and ours didn't have that fancy flappy thing on the back window, but everything else is the same. We left this car at my parent's house when we moved to Alaska. It wasn't vacant for long, however, there were several bee's nests in the door jams. We visited a few months later in June for mom's 50th bday and sold it then (bee's and all).

We arrived in Alaska carless. We had no credit. We had nothing, pretty much. We lived on base in the temporary housing while we looked for a place. Nice members of our ward drove me to the store for groceries and Kurt got rides to work from other guys. Blane Cade worked with him and they became friends. Blane wanted to get rid of his 92 Nissan Sentra so we took over the payments. This was the nicest car I'd ever driven - I felt fancy :)

However, it didn't really work great in the snow and it was a pain to get baby's out of the back from the front door. So we moved on to the 87 Trooper. This car was a big pain. It was great until the cold weather came then it continually broke down. Basically all the parts just froze solid, causing way more damage. I think we replaced the transmition twice in 1 winter.
After a winter of being stranded on the highway in -40 degrees and throwing money into a car that stunk, we splurged for a Honda Passport. It was lovely and new and gave us no problems. (it was also red, we can't believe how many red cars we've had!) That little man I'm bending down to is Matt. :)
The payments for the Passport were more than we could afford and we needed to down-grade for unemployment. We opted for a Saturn and this car drove us down through the Alkan back to Washington. Only about 1/2 the way was paved and the rough road did a number on the transmition. We had this car for a while once we were in WA. I remember sqeezing 4 year old Matthew inbetween 2 car seats.
Having 1 car all this time wasn't very convenient. I had to rely on friends, or walk everywhere which was easy living on the Air Force base, but once back in WA with 3 tiny kids it was more difficult. Kurt wanted a bike, so he got a Honda Shadow. This was fun when it wasn't raining...
We bought a piano from a guy who delivered it in a Toyota pickup like the one pictured below, only green. Kurt got to talking to him about the truck and the guy really liked the bike, so they traded straight up.

Pretty soon the kids were too big to squeeze in one seat in the Saturn so here came the Dodge Caravan. It was relatively new and the space was nice.
It didn't take long for Kurt to get sick of always fixing things on the little green truck so he gave it to Cody. He got himself a Dodge Ram.
We had both Dodges for a while. The payments were steep and we were trying to get into a house so Kurt sold the truck. After my Grandpa passed away we ended up with his little GMC pickup. Tanae is searching for eggs in the picture :)
We ended up trading the van in for the Tahoe.
A while later Kurt got the Mustang. He gave the GMC to Brock.
Kurts Chevy S10 is in the middle of becoming electric. It's on hold waiting for parts. Kurt has documented everything so far HERE

Congratulations on the new Tahoe! What fun! Just don't wreck it 3 times before it is a year old like I did to my van!!!
