Busy little Bee

Makenzie Joanne has been busy the past couple days. She had her volleyball tournament Monday afternoon. Our districts 6th grade sports are funny. There's a Middle school and a Junior high here. Other districts around us only have a Junior high so our 6th graders have to play against themselves and the other 6th graders from the other middle school in our district. They practice for a few months, then there's one tournament at the end. I like that they have an opportunity to play something, it's just hard because usually throughout a normal season you improve as you compete. I hope she will want to play church ball and in school again next year. I think she did great for her first time.

Tayler came to watch with me. She wanted to take a picture of the lights on the ceiling so I helped her. We looked to see how it turned out and we were so excited she got the ball in there.

Then Tuesday Makenzie auditioned for her school's talent show. Hula-hooping, of course. She was outstanding! She's been practicing like crazy, in private, so I haven't seen her new tricks. She is so fun to watch! Everybody judging loved her and said, YEAH you're in the show! She was very happy. The show is at the end of February and she has 3-4 rehearsals in the weeks before. Of course I will be posting the video after she performs.

I should say Matthew (and Kurt for that matter) has been quite busy as well. Robotics season is well underway. They have a little more than 4 weeks to get the completed masterpiece in it's crate for competition. This means long nights after school (and work) and long Saturdays in leaky portable 12. He's having a good time and I'm so happy he's involved in something so worth while. I can't wait to see what they and all the other teams come up with - they are so creative and brilliant! The game this year is called "Lunacy" and this video explains it:
