today I'm thankful for naps!

in other news...

Matthew's party Friday night was a great success. I put together an "amazing race" for him and his friends. I tried to make it like the show but the team with the most points won, not just who finished first. There was 10 clues with road blocks (only 1 team member completes the task) detours ( teams choose between 2 tasks to complete) and I threw in picture clues for bonus points. Kurt and I took random pictures around Maple Valley and if they figured out where or what it was they needed to take a picture of the whole team in front of whatever was in the photo for 50 points. They could earn more bonus points by saving all the clue envelopes as well. Here's what they had to do:

Shoot: you each must shoot the following: 1 lay-up, 1 free throw, 1 3 point shot

Toss: you must each toss the frisbee from the line drawn and land it in the circle.

Detour: Untie it or Find it

Untie it: untie the knots in the string and bring it with you

Find a 1975 penny (out of a big bag of pennies) and bring it with you

Go to McDonald's and buy a hot chocolate. Drink it down to get your next clue.

Kurt's team had to do the same tasks, but in a different order. It was fun to run into them a couple time during the race. My team ended up winning but it was a close finish. Here are some pictures of the highlights...

this is the bonus picture nobody could figure out. it was at the park around the corner from the baseball field.

after we all got back we watched the pictures together had cake and they went upstairs to watch a movie. It was a very fun night!
