Part III

(All my kids are back home and I missed them so much! I just love to see the boys walking around the house I have to grab them and hug them. Kurt and I had a fun 2 nights with no kids in the house - it was very strange and quiet but fun. We went to Coulon Park on Lake Washington Thursday night and ate Ivars *yum* and walked along the water.
It was nice. : )
I'm addicted to the shake-it and color-me photo apps for my phone. Too fun!
Now for Part III
The drive up to the temple was a little long but oh-so-beautiful along the waterfront. It was H-O-T and humid... I think one of the hottest while we were there but we had our tickets to the Polynesian Cultural Center so we endured.

Isn't the temple pretty? Just imagine it against a blue sky... breathtaking. The sister missionaries serving there were so sweet and we learned some interesting facts. There's 12 palm trees on each side leading up to the temple representing the 12 apostles in Christ's time and today. Also, on each side of the top part of the temple there are 4 friezes depicting scene's from the Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon and Church History. The Angel Moroni is in the Book of Mormon frieze. We couldn't go up to it or do a session (wanted to so bad!) because it's under construction. They started working on it Dec. 2008 and it will be rededicated in Nov. this year. One of the missionaries said we should come back for the dedication. Um... ok. : ) Right.
This is facing ocean and the road we drove in on. I love palm trees!
Here we're looking at the mini-versions of each frieze. Cool that we could see them close up.
My cute kids. Oh how I love them.
Next was the Cultural Center and I loved it. I had been before in high school but that's been a few years so it was fun to go back with my family. My favorite villages were Tahiti and Tonga.
Here we are watching the canoe pageant. I cannot tell you how hot it was. Burning hot. Sweat dripping. It wasn't pretty. But the dancers were. Unfortunately I was suffering from heat stroke to take any pictures of them...
The luau was yummy and all you can eat. Perfect!
They had a nice show to entertain us.
Our dinner...
Waiting for the big show to start...
As we were making our way to the stadium the sky opened up and just dumped on us. It felt great after being so hot all day!
In our seats before the show began Kurt and the boys noticed this alien in the trees... hmmm...
The show was great. I loved the drummers and the fast dancing.
This little man was the cutest thing ever. He did all the moves perfectly.
This fire dancer guy was awesome.
It was a fun, full day. We got home exhausted but I think it was well worth it.
Still to come: Pearl Harbor!
Be sure to read Reece's talk he gave today... he did an excellent job.
