Catchin' up

School has started and I think it's time for an
end-of-the-summer-recap.

Kurt and I had a nice get-away for our anniversary to Friday Harbor.  Oh it was beautiful and so nice to have time just for us.
Waiting for the ferry.
On the {windy} ferry
Kurt driving the boat.  : }
After my run/his ride...  TOO many hills!
We found the best beach
Waiting for the ferry to take us home  : {
SO SO PRETTY!

 On the ferry ride home they announced there were Orca whales off the starboard side.  We were right there by the window!  The captain slowed the ferry way down so we could all see.  There were about 8 total and they were jumping and playing.  SO COOL!  I've never seen it before!

 The weather didn't really give us much of a summer this year but when the sun came out we tried to enjoy it.  My dad took us out a few times on the boat.  Thank you DAD!  We love the boat!

The hottest week was actually the 1st week of school.
Here are my big kids on the first day...
Kenzie girl is a freshman!
Reece sprained his ankle pretty bad the day before
So he had to use crutches for a few days...  I can't believe he's a JUNIOR!
There they go - off to seminary
Tayler Lynn is a 7th grader.
 I can't believe how big my kids are getting!!!  Only 3 in school now.  Blow me away why don't you?

My funnest project this summer was redoing my laundry room/closet.  It's not really a room but now it seems bigger in there and I LOVE IT!!!

The ugly before pics....
 Painting over the ugly gray/white walls...  why didn't I do this YEARS ago?
 Took 1 cabinet off
 Setting up my scrapbook-paper-wall-paper
 Paper wall done, cabinet & molding painted a pretty teal and new light just about to go in
 New light!  Gorg!!!
 I took the door off which made more room in there and added a curtain.
 Kurt helped me install the counter top and shelf.
 My beeeuuuutiful retro laundry room is done.  Now I actually LIKE doing laundry.  Folding?  Not so much but it's a step.

Matthew, Reece, Kenzie and I are running the Leavenworth 1/2 marathon in October.
Training is going ok... the kids are having a hard time finding time to run now that school has started.  My legs are giving me trouble with shin splints.  I'm spending lots of time icing and elevating.  I hope I make it through.  Other than that I'm going to be getting my boy ready to live in the jungle for 2 years!  It's a bit over-whelming... but his visa papers are in so now it's a waiting game for that.  I need to start checking things off the list of stuff to buy.  3 months will fly by I know it!
