Catching up

The kids are off to school and I have a minute to catch up on our dead blog! I think one of my resolutions this year should be to write more often and count it as my journal. So lets see, Christmas was great fun, the kids got everything their little hearts desired and Kurt and I were exhausted. Happy kids, tired parents, that sounds about right doesn't it? We had a relaxing break from school, seminary, piano, and homework which was fabulous - it was very hard to get back to reality. But, here we are, and life's good. We're at 1:00 church now and this is the first year I like it. I used to dread it when the kids were little - it's so close to lunch, then we're there right during nap time... but we haven't had nap time (for the kids :D ) in a long time and it's nice to have the morning to get dinner ready (and my lesson :D ) Kenzie decided she wanted to cut her hair. We've been trying to talk her into a trim but with no luck. Then she came to me one night and said chop it off! It's so cute - here's the before and after. Elder Bednar was in the area last weekend and had a youth only fireside for 4 stakes. The boys went and really enjoyed it. He mostly answered questions from the kids. I really wanted to go, but no adults allowed... only bishops and stake youth leaders.

Matthew is in the robotics club at the high school and they're getting ready for the big competition in March. They work every day after school building their robot that has to do certain things from scratch. Matthew's one of the programmers, and he's learning a lot. It'll be fun to watch the competition. This video is of last year's competition in Portland. Also, if you're courious about the program, click here to check out their website.

I like the pic of the boys playing the Wii before church.

I'd also like to put in an order for a robot that takes care of kids when they wake up at night or get up too early.
