Kurt and I have always enjoyed being spontaneous. Last minute calls to babysitters for a night out, sneaking away for a weekend, or just jumping in the car to go where ever. I think this, however, takes the cake. We have friends in our ward we play games with and our kids play together. I knew they were heading to Disneyland soon. We were picking up Kenzie from a sleep-over and I asked Jen if when they were going or if they'd just gotten back and she said they leave May 3.

A little side-note. Besides the ocean, Disneyland is my favorite place to be. Yes, it's crowded. Yes, it's expensive. It just makes me happy. About every 2 years I get the itch to go...

So when Jen said May 3 I looked at Kurt with my big brown eyes and said "OOOHHHHH I want to go! Doesn't it sound like fun?" He just looked at me like, ya right. But I persisted. Jen and I looked at each other and she said "there's still plenty of seats on our plane..." I looked at Kurt again with bigger brown eyes, blinking this time, trying to beg subliminally. It wasn't until Mike came to the door and said they're flying Alaska into Long Beach that it clicked. Alaska has a deal going right now, everyday for the rest of the month a different destination is 30% off. What was the destination was on Saturday? You guessed it: LONG BEACH.

The rest is history. We leave May 3 for Disneyland with our friends the Bennetts. Kenzie and Tayler could hardly stand it - to go on the SAME PLANE to DISNEYLAND and stay in the hotel NEXT DOOR to their friends? Come ON!
