Last night was our Relief Society Christmas dinner/program that I had to put on. I think it was a great success. Only a couple snags that were quickly remedied and I only heard compliments - no complaints! That's a first I think.
We served a lovely ham dinner with potatoes, salad and roll. The program was "Christmas with Joseph & Emma" 5 narrators read about their life together, what they were going through at different Christmas's and what songs were popular or written during those years. There were lots of musical numbers performed and also sung all together. I put together a slide show to go with it and it went perfectly. I'm really happy it's done, but I'm mostly thankful the sisters enjoyed it and the spirit was there. I've been working on this for months praying the whole time that people would like it and it would go smoothly. Prayer works people!
Of course decorating is my favorite part. In the program it said,
"Joseph's childhood Christmases would have been simple: food served from their own harvest, homemade gifts, simple decorations gathered from the woods and readings from the bible"
I wanted it to look natural so I gathered my things from the woods.
These were the center pieces -
Part of the stage and the narrators sat in the couches.
the rest of the gym was full of trees.
the piano was really pretty too - but i didn't get a picture. DANG! I was too busy and rushed. : (
These are the desserts a lady on the committee made. FUN huh?
I made sure there was NOTHING on my calendar today. After Tayler leaves in 25 minutes I'm climbing back in my little bed for the WHOLE DAY!

Wow! Wish I could have been there!
You did a really nice job! The place looked great. The thought of being called as Enrichment Leader sends terror to my heart, hope it never happens! You did a fantastic job. Thanks for inviting me, it was a nice evening. LOVE church history, but I don't need to tell you that!
