That is my huge sigh of relief. My calendar is EMPTY until we leave for Hawaii in 2 weeks. I can't even put into words how happy I am to be through the June madness.
Here are some highlights of that madness...
This is Miss Makenzie at her last concert at Cedar River Middle School. It was their awards concert and she received Best Musician, Section Leader, and the Director's award from her teacher.
What a woman!
And here is Mr. Matthew at his awards concert at the high school.
I just love hearing the jazz choir sing.
I already wrote about Tay's choir trip to the Seattle Center. Wet but fun.
Saturday the 12th was Maple Valley Days. We like going to the parade then walking around our little park. They have rides and booths and of course tons of junk food.
That morning my SIL Mindy and I surprised Mitchell and Kurt with a yummy brunch at the Salish Lodge over-looking the Snoqualmie Falls. Our surprise was planned for I think a couple months and we pulled it off! They had no idea - it was great.
I had my parents over Sunday the 13th to celebrate Father's day since we'd be gone the actual day. I have no pictures of this but we had a yummy dinner and fun planning our trip to Hawaii.
I already wrote about the piano recital that was on the 14th...
my kids are the greatest musicians ever! : )
The last day of school was the 16th. The elementary school has a 5th grade talent show the last day and Tayler sang. It blows me away that we're forever done with Lake Wilderness Elem. I had to keep myself from getting teary as I saw most of my kids teachers over the years and all the cute little kids.
We also had Tayler's friend party for her bday that night... it was a big day for my Tayler.
Holy cow I have to remember next year to have a cut-off for how many we invite. Twelve 10 & 11 year old girls was a bit much. It stopped raining for a few hours so out they went.
Candy bar game. Classic fun.
After a couple hours of outside it started to sprinkle and get dark so I "let" them come in.
Instead of a cake we had stuff for sundaes. They had the most fun making them -
but after adding ALL the toppings they didn't taste so good. It was their craft. : )
The birthday madness party lasted from 6-10 but some sneaky girls who wanted a sleep-over called their moms and asked them to come later. Kurt got home at 10 thinking they'd be gone... I promptly turned over getting-rid-of-partiers responsibility to him and retired to my bed.
The 4 remaining girls finally left at 11. Nice.
The Simple Saturday I put on for our RS went well. Everybody liked it and enjoyed their crafts. When I got home at 1 Kurt had the kids cleaning/packing for our trip to Fort Flagler.
We had a great time at the Clayson reunion and had fun with visitors afterward - yay! We don't get visitors very often. I took a ton of pictures of the reunion, but here are just a few...
I helped Luke look for crabs... even though he didn't really know who I was. hahaha
Reece is a man now - what a handsome devil.
The fort Tayler built with Josh and Ryan
Reece and his little cousins. They just swarm around him, it's the cutest thing ever.
Baby Joel let Tayler hold him. Lucky girl!
Submarine heading into Seattle.
We went to the Seattle Center with Suzy, Ryan and Kaitlyn on Monday. It was a beautiful day!
The kids were brave and rode this bike... nope. not me.
Then the girls and I drove Ryan, Suzy & Kaitlyn to Shane & Casey's house. All the girls saw Eclipse and had a nice time visiting.
Phew!
Now we're HOME and doing NOTHING! YAY!
