Better late than never...

We camped at the ocean the weekend of August 13 with my brother's family and my parents.  It was fun - the weather was phenomenal.  The hottest I've ever felt at our Washington beaches.  Matthew had to work so he had the weekend to himself and Sean came with us instead.  Oh how I love the ocean... will we be this lucky next year?  Time will tell!

3 teenagers not wanting to be in the picture, or get out of the tent...
Kurt fell in love with his new reclining camp chair.
Heading to the beach the first night to watch the sunset
 Mitchell's daughter, Natalie
The water was ice but it's impossible not to get in!
 The sunset was breathtaking!
The next day, Saturday, was the hottest.  The beach was crowded but what a beautiful day!
 Strike a pose boys...
The tide was moving in pretty fast so we kept moving our stuff and driving our car farther up the beach.  The book I was reading was too good to notice until my shorts felt wet.  : )
We didn't get any pictures of this but there was a car left in the water and nobody showed up to move it.  We walked down to it as the waves started crashing into the front bumper, sinking the tires deeper into the sand.  A group had formed watching and wondering where the owner was and suddenly a man appeared running towards us.  He jumped in but couldn't get going without everybody's help to push him out.  Oh how I wish we had our camera!
 Games at night were chilly.
Kenzie was into her book too.
The next day was over-cast so we had a picnic before going home.  Look how cute these kids are.
 Heading home.

School starts this Tuesday.
This past week I was finally feeling ready for them to go back.  This was a relief, really, because I really REALLY didn't want summer to end.  Maybe it has something to do with Matthew being a senior, or just not having a schedule or all the million things that come with school.  I don't know but now I'm ready for less clutter and a clean house during the day.   I will miss my kids, they're a lot of fun as they get older.  I can't believe in a year I'll be getting a missionary ready.  Time just goes TOO fast but I'm excited for Matthew to experience his senior year and make memories he'll remember forever.  The other 3 kids all move up a school this year and that's exciting too.
